Cable guy

Even on my days off/vacation days I can't escape the stupid people. The other day I had to wait around for the cable guy to come to the house to hook up our new service. I don't know why, there wasn't anything for him to do, but stupid Comcast requires it.

So Jose shows up, and starting plugging in a digital box, which I didn't order. I tell him I don't want that, I'm only paying for extended basic. He starts arguing with me that I'll only get 70 channels and won't be able to order pay-per view material. I again told him I'm only paying for extended basic.

Then he says "Your Tivo isn't compatible with Comcast's system." After telling him he's dead wrong, he says "Well one way or another you can't use it because the cable tv line has to go directly into the back of the television." Sweet Jesus, this guy was a moron. I told him I'd finish hooking it up myself and showed him the door.

In under 3 minutes I got everything connected and Tivo working. I can only imagine how many people that genuinely don't know get scammed by idiots like this guy.
