Close call

The other night we received a little winter precipitation in the form of heavy, wet snow and freezing rain. My first stop was a very large unoccupied and out of the way parking lot where I proceeded to mark out a course in the untouched snow. Shortly after finishing, I turned off the dash cam and began the first lap of the Fatal Funnel 500.
It was fun power sliding and drifting through the corners of my "track," gunning the engine on the straight-aways. On about lap 10 after nailing the first turn and heading into the second, I got a little overconfident and slid into the corner too fast, losing control of the car and sending it spinning into a 360. With an empty lot, I had only two fears - smashing into a curb, or taking out a large light pole.
Lucky for me the vehicle had lost most of its momentum when it hit the curb, so no noticeable damage can be seen. I did notice the car pulling to the left a little afterward though. Oops. It was at that time I decided the Fatal Funnel 500 would be called on account of "not wanting to be unemployed," and the only injuries seemed to be a slight misalignment and one puckered butthole.
I'd like to say I learned my lesson, but we all know the truth will rise to the surface if we get another storm.

It's got to be a guy thing... :)

BTW, it's a very pretty pic.

I think it's a combination guy/bored/goofy thing.

Great idea... hmmm I need to get more practice in with my vehicle... :) Yes I will be careful not to hit anything or become a nuisance to anyone.

When else can you offer a good explanation to an investigating officer who finds you blowing donuts in a parking lot at midnight? That's my reasoning, anyways... plus it doesn't waste my tires and does no damage to the asphalt, and is much quieter than dry pavement.
